"A couple of years ago I enrolled in a residency program that was teaching the details of occlusion and how TMD disrupts the stability and balance of the system. Rapidly my eyes were being opened to new concepts and principles that would transform the way I practiced dentistry. I could sketch great pictures of the TMJ and would share CBCT images with my patients, but no matter what words I used, and I tried many permutations, they just didn’t get it. They couldn’t see the link between their signs and symptoms and what I was explaining to them. They definitely weren’t comprehending the progressive nature of dental disease and the consequences of inaction.
That year of more refusals than acceptances was just so frustrating and, on reflection, expensive in lost income! On top of that I got the impression that my fellow residency students weren’t having the same problems. Was I inarticulate compared to them? I didn’t think so!
Finally, towards the end of the residency, I asked one of my colleagues in the program, “How do you explain all this to your patients?”
His response was simple: “You use BiteFX, don’t you?”

For me, my training would have been wasted if I wasn’t able to get my patients to understand the benefits I was now able to offer them.
For my patients, they’d have been stuck with their diseased joints or occlusion and, had I continued to attempt my early explanations, might even have left my practice thinking that I was trying to push unnecessary dentistry on them.

If they don’t want more information, they have a sufficient understanding to support a decision to proceed with the treatment they need.
Basically, once patients understand that dental disease is progressive, they find it easy to accept treatment plans that halt and repair the damage.
I estimate that I have seen a 60% increase in treatment acceptances since I started using BiteFX.

Many of the treatments I am discussing can be in the $15K to $65K range so, if I only gained one of those a year because of using BiteFX, it would be worth it – but it’s way more effective than that!
