Dentists' Advice on Getting Started with BiteFX

Where should you start with the BiteFX? In our office, every new patient undergoes a complete dental examination, x-rays and a complete photographic series. After the exam is complete, the photographs are shown on the computer screen, pointing out any existing occlusal issues, caries and cosmetic issues. Then, BiteFX is opened and we go through any animations that correspond to situations occurring in the patient's mouth. The patients understand at their first visit the existing conditions in their mouth and immediately ask what can be done.

Chris Toomey, DDS adds:

I would like to add to Fred's last statement:  The patients understand at their first visit the existing conditions in their mouth and immediately ask what can be done.

This occurs because this level of understanding occurs usually within 1-2 minutes when using BiteFX.  It has also been the best tool to train my staff on what we see and do.  The more they know the more they can help patients understand their problems.  When answering the phone, the more powerful it becomes to the patient if the first contact to our office understands some concepts that can be related to their problem.
